Funny sounding and actually quite appropriate for this time of the season. With Halloween right around the corner, the leaves turning red, orange and yellow. The sight of

What are you afraid of

monsters, goblins, creepy and eerie things that you only find in horror films. Isn’t that what this month’s tone happens to be all about?

The days are growing shorter, the nights are growing colder and nothing except those holiday jitters to face from now until after the New Year. Gosh it just seems like time has started rapidly increasing to the point that it seems there are not enough hours in the day. Those little “it can wait” thoughts about calling a creditor, arranging some payments on a past due bill.

You know what I mean all of those little things we say we will do later, such as saving up for our children’s college tuition. What about saving up for our own retirement. How about eliminating some debt to remove a burden of stress off of our shoulders.

I can remember when that feeling of debt and past due bills were eliminated from my life. I can also remember when having a credit card was such a temptation to spend while being a curse to have because I was desperate to eat and the credit card was my only source of purchase.

The core of the dilemma here is that we as humans and more so as a society have become dependent on an instant gratification type of mentality with the audacity to buy everything on credit so you have to pay exorbitant interest rates that wind up consuming every dollar you have towards getting out of debt and creating a bright future for you and your family.

So again I ask is it your fear of change, becoming debt free or some other positive shift forward in your life that is holding you back from your achievement of financial freedom. If you don’t think you are standing in your own way of success by hiding from the real truth of the matter; then you need to step aside and take a good hard look at your life from the outside looking in.

Life is full of uncanny surprises and challenges no doubt. When you learn from your mistakes you can move forward at leaps and bounds you never dreamed possible. It all starts with just a little discipline and patience. You know exactly what I am talking about… “The Pillars of Wealth” just a few shifts and you’re off and running at the races and headed straight to the wealth you have always deserved.

Are your rewards really rewarding or are you just in a vicious cycle of spending?

You hit the stores in search of that something special that you’ve always had to have or you just can’t live without, you search high and low for that most important possession. You spot it on a shelf tucked way inside behind other merchandise. You grab it and you can hardly believe your eyes; it’s in pristine condition what a bargain.

You’re so excited you can hardly contain yourself you rush to the checkout lane and whip out your old faithful wallet. Nothing to choose from except the old plastic credit card or some tattered cash tucked behind the flap. You decide on the plastic it’s smooth, colorful, and thrifty; it show class, grace and social affluence.

Your turn is up you make the purchase you’re so amazingly excited as you whisk away from the store with your new trinket in hand. You have just the place to put it right next to your other trinket you bought last week when you did that cool little thing at the office. You know just like the other items you had to have just because you wanted them.

You arrive at home and stare with curiosity and wonder as you place your nifty new purchase on the shelf with the others. It adds such new charm, and beauty to your collection. The way it reflects of the glass lit shelving is almost hypnotizing to look at and watch. Your content and feel as if you performed the greatest deed for mankind by making that purchase.

Your bills come in the mail as they always do and the first thing that you open is that credit card bill, your eyes almost pop out of your head as the astronomical interest rates seems to have eaten up all of your last payment and the reduction in principle was reversed due to other charges, taxes, and late penalties. You notice that you’re over the limit and your latest purchases aren’t even on that statement.

You begin to panic and feel a bit stressed that you overdrew the account. You’re not so happy with the purchase you made; you might even resent the purchase a little bit. You know this passes with time yet the debt continues to grow. Soon it consumes your entire life until you feel so overwhelmed that you can hardly even think about it without feeling like an anxiety attack is coming over you. You feel all knotted up and fearful of what might happen next.

The only people that call you are bill collectors and your debt providers to remind you that you are late on your obligations. You feel as if there is no way out a dark cloud is coming over you. Your reward purchase seems like a bad habit that you can’t break. You’re starting to realize that you have a spending problem.

You look for ways to stop the cycle but your relentlessness weakens with every failed attempt. Not to worry though, millions of people are walking the same path every day. Stuck in a cycle of social acceptance of “it is how it is”. People are being misled into this type of behavior; it’s easy to have an instant gratification mentality with the advancement of our instant access society.

People want it all and the want it now, you need to realize the problems and head it straight on face to face. Money spending can be very much a disease that ruins your life, health and wealth with no second thought; in a blink of an eye everything changes.

Don’t become a victim know the warning signs and seek out assistance if you can’t make the corrections on your own. First take a close look at your house are you cluttered or over stocked with items of clothing, collectables, shoes, tools or other items? Secondly take a look at your financial statements (profit and loss statement, balance sheet, expense report) to see what your financial net worth looks like.

With no second guessing you’ll soon be able to have a clear view of your entire situation. You’ll know if your rewards are reward to you or just rewarding to your creditor’s benefit. All of the frequent flier miles, rewards from Visa, Master Card, Discover Card and American Express are all designed to get you spending.

Rewarding yourself is for good behavior, once a month after achieving all of your contributions toward your future plans, current expenses all paid, unnecessary spending cut from your budget, as well as new profitable investments researched and purchased. Then and only then will you have the ability to consciously accept a reward for great or exceptional behavior. Until then it’s not rewarding to make purchases just for the sake of spending. It’s downright unrewarding and unsettling to our core when we do things of this nature.

We are just conditioned to think its normal everyday activities to be like this. No one has to live in debt over load or seek shelter from the weight of their financial burden. Seek knowledge and a plan to uncover your full financial potential. Stop the blatant disruption of the course of evolution by aligning yourself with the correct actions you are achieving for. Stop living for the moment if your not prepared to stay ahead of the curve and prepare for tomorrow. You’ll wind up six feet under a stack of bills waiting for every last breath to be sucked out of your life. Instead run the race, win the championship and earn the rewarding, respectfulness you deserve by taking control of your money habits today.

She Stole His Heart Then His Wallet

Identity theft it happens all too often in this country. I heard this story from a close friend of mine a few years ago. It blew my mind away to learn just how far people will go to harm another. No there was no domestic violence or beating, no gunshots fired or a knife inflicted wound. Just a simple four word statement that would alter his life forever; “She stole my wallet.”

You see when she took his wallet in the course of the night her plans were laid out clearly. He was an affluent man of his community, a well respected entrepreneur and philanthropist. One night would prove him wrong and change the course of his life to a direction he had never imagined. From innocent to villain in 2.5 seconds flat.

Identity thieves are all around us. Scouring evidence from improperly disposed of medical records, purchase receipts, DMV databases, pre approved credit offers and so many other areas of your personal life that you wouldn’t have a chance in hell of competing with their cunningness. Identity thieves are out on a mission to steal your good name and forever ruin your ability to grow your credit or personal wealth by destroying everything credible about you.

In search of new ways to elude the peace keeping community and hide their corrupt identities behind new ones; think about it, a total protection plan for the criminal. Your good name stolen, funds and credit card charges racked up against you with no one else to blame. Our law enforcement officials are looking at you as the felon or co-conspirator in the event.

Most people think that their identities are safe because they stopped all of the junk mail to their personal residences, yet they are unaware of all areas that their identity’s can become affected. Let’s take a look at some of the ways your at risk…

1) Department of Motor Vehicles

Identity Thief could get a license in your name and accumulate tickets in your name. You could end up with a warrant issued for your arrest, as the identity thieves do not pay fines due nor show up for court to plead their violations.

2) Social Security Identity Theft

Identity Thief could use your SS# for employment or start business and you would be responsible for the tax bill. This has been a problem for some applying for work and finding their social security number is already working there at the business. A frequent cause is when illegal immigrants are sold Social Security numbers and fake ID cards to gain employment.

3) Medical Identity Theft

Medical identity theft occurs when someone uses a person’s name and sometimes other parts of their identity — such as insurance information — without the person’s knowledge or consent to obtain medical services or goods, or uses the persons identity information to make false claims for medical services or goods. Medical identity theft frequently results in erroneous entries being put into existing medical records, and can involve the creation of fictitious medical records in the victims’ name.

4) Criminal Identity Theft

Identity Thief could use your information to commit crimes, escape fines or jail time. You could be issued a warrant for your arrest for these crimes or fines not being paid.

5) Financial Identity Theft

Identity Thief could use your information to get money, goods or services leaving you responsible for the bill. This could be anything from new credit cards to new lines of credit issued in your name. Please note the Schedule E of liabilities covered by your bank that pertain to credit cards has a sixty day window. After that period, they are not legally obligated to reimburse any monies lost.

So when she took his wallet he was exposed to financial identity theft, social security identity theft and DMV identity theft just from a wallet. Now having all of this information the other areas of identity theft are wide open. So you see although his decision to have a quiet night out on the town turned fruitful for his evening when Mr. X woke up the next morning it was the worst nightmare in his entire life.

His credit cards had all been maxed out, a car had been purchased in his name and subsequently wrecked that same morning. Now who gets the bill for the damages? You guessed it; Mr. X. he was rudely woken from his slumber by a local Police Officer wanting to arrest him for a hit and run felony.

After a long and uneventful stay at the local Police Station Mr. X.’s Attorney finally arranged for the release of his client. This wasn’t the first time Identity Theft had been a problem in this community. Fortunately there was a lead on the case while Mr. X. had been in custody the thieves struck again at a local bank who immediately notified the armed guard and they took the perpetrator into custody.

Mr. X has been trying to untangle the web of debt from thievery and clear his good name but the process has been long and tedious. In keeping short and to the point if you think you’re out of the woods because you have poor credit or no credit think again. It’s not just your financial status thieves are after. It’s any aspect of your identity you can have exploited.

As long as the blame can have the finger pointed in a direction away from the real criminals you are still their best target for their defense. You need a shield to protect you from them. Your identity is everything to employers, education systems, financial institutions and more. I know you can see the importance of protection for you and your family. My question is who can you trust?

You need a name you can count on with a guarantee that will stand in your favor if the chips are down. A company that provides you not only with monitoring of your identity, also with a one million dollar guarantee that if your identity becomes stolen while you’re a customer they will pay to restore your identity to it’s good name. With that said know that all companies are not created equal. Learn to Maximize and Protect Your Wealth
