The New Land Grab

Going back into the archives just a little I ran across an article from Fortune magazine called “The New land Grab”. The article outlined the scenarios of over-leveraged builders who had to liquidate inventory to soften the damages of the weakening economy.

Laying out the formula of history repeats itself they predict that more land will become available and for a limited time buys will be made with significant benefits to the buyer. Also the entire principle of the private equity firms, hedge funds and smaller builders are to bank the land until the market shifts.

Market experts say that even though we have seen this event happen in time they predict a different and unknown market this time around. Consumers are leery right along with the banks tight purse strings. No matter what happens here in the short term, combined with our upcoming historical election in November.

For the long term land banking is for creating serious wealth. Investors would agree wealth is based on the principle of being right in front of the path of growth.

Grab your land today. Fortune Magazine October 1, 2007
