Are You Living On Purpose

Passions and purpose are not always top of mind when we go through our daily activities. We start to experience frustration and emotional triggers that in short make us feel uncomfortable. We have all been told that we need to live on purpose, find our passions and live in the moment. It’s definitely easy to say and so much harder to do. You see when you are truly ready for success and everything you have always wished for new and exciting changes start to evolve in front of you.

The down side is that even though all of the new and exciting changes are taking place the truth is that while all of this change is taking place there is a pain deep inside. It’s that same old battle between what one of my closest friends called the “Triangle of Toxicity” The ego, the addict and the victim all combat inside to unseat your will power, distract you from your goals, ultimately proving you a failure and leaving you feeling defeated, deflated and downright frustrated.

These are the times you need to pay close attention to. It’s exactly when this activity of (I don’t like this feeling, I am not ready for the change, etc…)  your behavior may become passive aggressive, you seem to distance yourself from the new and exciting activities trying to hold on to a shredded fabric of the past. THIS MOMENT the one that makes you feel all of those negative feelings is when you need to stand up and have a support system in place. Your peers, your mentors, your valued friends and family who truly RESPECT your opinion and support your decisions are who we need to turn to in times of need.

Personally and professionally I can say this because my own life is a true living example of miracles through adversity. I have made the leap of faith and jumped on the purpose train. I told you last year that life had gone to the dogs and now that phrase has new meaning. I have taken a walk from what I thought was my purpose in life to teach and educate all about finances and taken my love for training to the dogs. Over the last three months I have been introduced to the Bully breed of dogs I had a beautiful Boxer / Pit Bull mix her name was Genesis. When she passed suddenly I became the proud owner of two brothers today they are 11 weeks old.

This coincides with my daily life since I have become COO of BetterHealthForDogs.com I have been around dogs for the majority of my life, my wife and I even had up to six dogs at one time, however I have never had my very own dog and these two guys are as sweet as apple pie. You can watch them all grow up here on their blog very own blog. These guys are my new focus and their well being is essential to our success. You see these guy are going to become a ring side attraction. I am going to dive head first into sporting events for these two boys. Agility competitions and sport tracking are great exercise and fun for them as well as their owners.

Funny sounding and actually quite appropriate for this time of the season. With Halloween right around the corner, the leaves turning red, orange and yellow. The sight of

The days are growing shorter, the nights are growing colder and nothing except those holiday jitters to face from now until after the New Year. Gosh it just seems like time has started rapidly increasing to the point that it seems there are not enough hours in the day. Those little “it can wait” thoughts about calling a creditor, arranging some payments on a past due bill.

You know what I mean all of those little things we say we will do later, such as saving up for our children’s college tuition. What about saving up for our own retirement. How about eliminating some debt to remove a burden of stress off of our shoulders.

I can remember when that feeling of debt and past due bills were eliminated from my life. I can also remember when having a credit card was such a temptation to spend while being a curse to have because I was desperate to eat and the credit card was my only source of purchase.

The core of the dilemma here is that we as humans and more so as a society have become dependent on an instant gratification type of mentality with the audacity to buy everything on credit so you have to pay exorbitant interest rates that wind up consuming every dollar you have towards getting out of debt and creating a bright future for you and your family.

So again I ask is it your fear of change, becoming debt free or some other positive shift forward in your life that is holding you back from your achievement of financial freedom. If you don’t think you are standing in your own way of success by hiding from the real truth of the matter; then you need to step aside and take a good hard look at your life from the outside looking in.

Life is full of uncanny surprises and challenges no doubt. When you learn from your mistakes you can move forward at leaps and bounds you never dreamed possible. It all starts with just a little discipline and patience. A dogs unique set of senses are an extraordinary example of the statement wealth and wisdom go hand in hand, you can’t have one without the other. In fact you probably haven’t taken into account all of the variables that come into play. Inevitably you make choices based on intuition, no matter how much you ignore or dismiss that very fact. Intuition alone is a good indicator of your wisdom when it comes to making critical decisions everyday. For instance that decision to or not to make a hasty purchase, reaction to someone, take a turn down a different street and so on.

Even if they aren’t related to financial decisions directly they improve upon your ability to make actions based on fact mixed with logic. Here’s an brilliant example of just this very scenario. I decided to undergo some very critical thinking decisions about certain areas of my life and my business as well as the outcomes I want to see for my family, my colleagues and my most authentic friends.

I had had some serious changes take place in my life, with turbulent activity taking place I had to take cover in new and uncharted territories. It was like paradise island in one aspect and total nightmare on the other. Nothing murderous just privacy, new rules, new ideas for creativity and the most enthusiastic attitude I could muster up and hold onto.

The first couple of weeks were difficult to transition in to, moving a 3^rd person into a one man office was a task that took so much choreography, artistic talent and a strong virtue of trust, patience and understanding. I’ll go into that story another time what I really want to cover here is the topic of wealth and wisdom. I chose a different path to pursue looking for new ideas I could adapt to my own business, what started to happen was and still is purely amazing.

I managed to partner up with a 20 year veteran San Francisco Radio DJ, who is coming out of a retirement for a second round with a whole new eco-centered format with one of the top agencies in the world. They’re begging him to come back and offering him everything he wants on a gold platter. In the mean time I have managed to align myself with him on multiple ventures including advertising on his media platforms.

That doesn’t excite me, what gets my heart racing and revving to go is a project that will help thousands even millions of dogs and help their owners too. I have a very large role in this project as I am the acting CFO and affiliate manager. We are commencing forward with a proposed launch date of October 1^st 2009. This isn’t a business this is a purpose that makes sense, imagine viewing hundreds of written and soon to be converted to video passionate testimonials from dog lovers who have witnessed holistic miracles with their own eyes.

My dog bear was laid to rest at the beginning of this month. I has saddened me deeply, I really miss him. I also miss my own space and domain. Sorry to hit the emotional nerve there I really do miss him. Here’s really what I want you to take away from all of this. The wisdom behind this profound new discovery is simple.

You take something that is already working, for example, the dog products have been around since 1992 that’s 15 years. Doing the dance, you know dancing around rhe subject at hand

“Why do we dance?” “Because an unexamined life is not worth living.” This was a quote from a movie my wife was watching this morning. It was one of those chick flick movies on the Lifetime Channel. I found this question quite intriguing as I passed by in the living room. It stopped me in my tracks and made me just think about life in general.

What a statement that was. An unexamined life isn’t worth living. What was the actor stating? Really he was emphasizing a deep rooted human feeling and curiosity, to satisfy your desires, explore new reaches of your inner self. In this case a dancer was the focused intent. As it was tsated with the opening question.

Avoiding the issue at hand

You can look at this in another perspective, why do we dance around the subject of finance, financial stabilization, security, why because it’s uncomfortable for the masses. Many people are challenged and distraught about their current state of affairs. Constantly complaining about their situation at hand,yet instead of doing the right thing people just keep doing the same things that put them in a tight spot, in the first place.

You know who they are, maybe you’re one of the many who are struggling to make ends meat. You go to work daily and give it your best and still at then of the day you have more month than money. Life in itself seems meaningless, “why am I working so hard, for what”; you ask? Then the thought passes and you just keep pushing along hoping for things in life to improve and get better.

the Break Up

I talked about it the other day, when I had mentioned about hitting bottom, the day my wife told me to pack my bags. It was a real eye opener. There I was sitting on my buddies couch numb from what had just happened. I had a long talk with my good friend and then as the evening came to a close, and I was in the dark left wondering what had happened, knowing full well what I had to do. I sat there paralyzed.

Watching the dark emptiness fill my heart, that empty feeling way down inside that can undeniably take you to the darkest parts of your soul. Most people stay far away from these places, the fear and pain of doing a little self analysis, reflection in depth research into why is my life going this way.

holding on by a thread praying you will survive

It’s hilarious that it takes the majority of humans to hit a place where they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place before they realize they are holding on by a thread, watching their lives spiral out of control. I’ve seen this place a few times in my life and normally I shrugged it off, and kept plowing through the daily grind, making my way to where ever it was going.

Appearing that everything was just fine and that I’d always be okay. Usually this is how my life turned out. I always managed to land on my feet. Picking up without missing a beat. That was until tragedy struck when my Mother had passed, then the spiral downward with devastating blow after devastating blow, took my wife and I through the most stressful twists and turns, crazy life threatening situations and circumstances, and left us at a breaking point after enough of the setbacks and heartaches of defeat and failure stressed us. I have to say I was the breaking factor in the entire equation.

I bring this to the relevant subject of dance because we all dance around the fire once in a while but when it’s too darn hot in the kitchen you need to lower the heat or stay out of it. The unexplored side of entrepreneurship I embarked on took us through some pretty advanced dance moves to keep us on our toes was a trying task to say the least.

While she was away I had some amazing moments of discovery, awesome discussions that took my life again in new directions and explorations of my inner and outer self. Seeing people around me all fall victim of the poor decisions made with taking money for granted, abusing the freedom of having an instant gratification type of mindset and an uncaring thought towards the future.

This isn’t a bad or terrible way to live, although it is reckless and careless to go through life without putting up boundaries, limits and rules that are used to measure, guide and protect us from harm and minor setbacks. I remember when I had to look at finding work to supplement my income, so that I had an emergency parachute if I needed to jump ship.

My wife too had to go through the same process, on top of that she received very disheartening news about her overall health and wellness. It was at this point we both realized what we wanted from a relationship and it was everything we already had and so much more. We had also realized that we both needed to be stable and financially stable so we could realize all of our dreams.

We had to learn all of the basics because we ignored all of the warning signs, we lived with danger and desperation daily. Our greatest fears were coming true. There she was in another town, living with friends and I was in my own independent element as well. We had to set up goals, make commitments to change those things that were not balanced and shred all of the negative habits, influences, people and circumstances from our lives.

We had to regain our vision of our goals, chart new courses so we could get back together and back on track to our future. There were no choices, either do or die. We knew everything would always work out, but this time was different, we knew we had to work things out it was a matter of many lives involved. Risking everything on a pipe dream wasn’t going to be an option, not that a pipe dream was the dream at all, but pie in the sky dreams are just that.

If you have big goals and desires you need gigantic actions, and measurable results quickly. You have to take a deeper inventory of what really needs to go on. The advice of others will tell you who is authentic and qualified to remain a trusted friend. Let me tell you when all chips are down and life seems to have no purpose the allies you meet are incredible and will carry you down to the finish line. Running right along side you cheering you in all of the way.

We encourage you to dance the test of time, live a life of experience and joy, stop limiting yourself to the same old, same old routine. If you are faced with trouble financially whether it’s your home mortgage, job loss, buried in unsecured debt, faced with an impending bankruptcy or foreclosure you have to know that it’s just as much of a gift as it is a nightmare.
