You sold a house that had a roof leak that had been repaired by you a year earlier. The home was inspected and passed with a recommendation to get a roofing inspector. The buyers declined the request and now they are demanding you to pay for a new roof. What is a seller to do? http://www.inman.com/buyers-sellers/columnists/barrystone/new-roofs-a-deal-breaker

Make sure you always get your inspections and due diligence items checked off and cleared before yu ever take title to a property. On rare occasions a minor defect may reveal itself and it’s not necessary to involve the entire set of parties involved in the purchasing process.

However if a large scale event like the roof starts to leak, or the furnace isn’t working you need to get an estimate of the costs for repair. Then contact your home inspector if you are still within the statutes of the states legal contract laws.

Get all the facts and heed warnings when given. Proceed with caution and get all of the details and facts first. Gee buying land is so much easier and hassle free.
